ツィママンによる1922年頃のデイ・ドレス。
本品のテキスタイルは画家、ラウル・デュフィがリヨンのテキスタイル・メーカー、ビアンキニ=フェリエ社のためにデザインしたもの。赤い薔薇が描かれたボーダー部分を活かしてドレスに仕立てられました。このテキスタイルには色違いもあり、青系の薔薇がプリントされたドレスとコートのセットをハッセルト（ベルギー）のモード美術館が所蔵しています。薔薇はデュフィのもっとも好んだモチーフの一つで、ここでは木版による素朴なタッチで表現されています。デュフィは1912年から28年まで同社と契約し、数多くのデザインを提供しました。これらの生地はツィママンをはじめ、ポワレらにも多用されました。

A day dress by Zimmermann, circa 1922.
The textile used for this piece was designed by the painter Raoul Dufy for the Lyon-based textile manufacturer Bianchini-Férier. The dress was tailored to take advantage of the fabric’s border design featuring red roses. A variant of this textile in a different colorway—featuring blue-toned roses printed on fabric—is held in the collection of the Modemuseum Hasselt in Belgium as part of a dress and coat ensemble. The rose was among Dufy’s most favored motifs, and here it is rendered with a rustic touch reminiscent of woodblock printing.
Dufy was under contract with Bianchini-Férier from 1912 to 1928, during which he produced a large number of designs. These textiles were widely used by leading couturiers of the period, including Zimmermann and Paul Poiret.
