日本ファッションが持つ創造性と、その力強いデザインに潜む文化的背景に焦点を当てた「Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion」展。
2010年にバービカン・アート・ギャラリー（ロンドン）、2011年にハウス・デア・クンスト（ミュンヘン）で開催され、高い評価を得ました。新たな作品を加え、ヴァージョンアップした「Future Beauty 日本ファッションの未来性」展を2012年夏、東京で開催します。
京都服飾文化研究財団（KCI）のコレクションを中心に、現代の日本を代表するデザイナーの作品約100点と、映像、印刷媒体などによって重層的に構成されます。

会期：2012年7月28日（土）～10月8日（月・祝）
休館日：月曜日（ただし9/17、10/1、8は開館、9/18（火）は休館）
開館時間：10：00～18：00（入場は17：30まで）
入場料：一般1,000円（800円）、大学生・65歳以上800円（640円）、中高生500円（400円）、小学生以下無料　※（　）内は20名様以上の団体料金

"Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion" in Tokyo

Against the background of the economic development of the second half of the twentieth century, the Japanese fashion industry underwent a transformation. In 1970 Kenzo Takada and Issey Miyake made their appearance, followed in the 1980s by Rei Kawakubo and Yohji Yamamoto, whose work was not confined to a Western context but displayed a new form of aesthetic that shocked the world. What is the true essence of Japanese fashion? How has the relationship between people and clothes changed? This exhibition will explore the works of Japanese fashion, which has fascinated the world since the latter part of the twentieth century, from a variety of angles, based largely on the collection of The Kyoto Costume Institute (KCI) but also using video and printed materials.
