6月27日、シアトル・アート・ミュージアム（米国）とKCIの共催展「Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion」展がオープンしました。

20世紀後期以降の前衛的な日本ファッションを展覧する本展は、2010年のロンドンを皮切りに、ミュンヘン、東京に続いて開催されました。
前回に続き、キュレーションはKCIチーフ・キュレーター、深井晃子。美術館からはキュレーターのCatharina Manchandaがキュレーションに加わりました。

出展作品は、ＫＣＩのコレクションを中心とした1970-2010年代の日本ファッション約100点。加えて、コレクション・ショーの映像や、ポスター、DM、カタログといったプリント・マテリアルも出展。「陰翳礼讃」「平面性」「伝統と革新」「クール・ジャパン」の４セクションを中心に構成し、日本ファッションの特性を明快に展示しています。

6月25日、26日の二日間に渡ったプレビューには約2,000人ものお客様が出席くださり、在シアトル日本国総領事館首席領事 百々智子氏がご挨拶くださいました。
町には本展のポスターが溢れ、シアトルの人々に高い関心を呼んでいます。
本展は2013年9月8日まで。
その後、ボストン近郊セイラムのピーボディ・エセックス・ミュージアムに巡回します（2013年11月16日～2014年1月26日）。

Exhibition " Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion" at the Seattle Art Museum

After the success at the Barbican Art Gallery (Oct. -Jan., 2011), " Future Beauty: 30 Years of Japanese Fashion" toured to Munich and Tokyo, and now on view at the Seattle Art Museum.
"Future Beauty" is the exhibition to comprehensively survey avant-garde Japanese fashion from the early 1980s to the present. It runs till 8th of September, 2013.
After that, Future Beauty tours to Peabody Essex Museum in Salem (November 16- January 26, 2014)
