1910年代から30年代は、世界各地で様々なモダンの形が現われた時代でした。機能主義に基づく「モダニズム」は、いまなお当時の中心的な動向とみなされていますが、一方で、大衆消費社会が進展したこの時代は、常に新しくあるために装飾することに価値が置かれた、儚き「モダニティ」の時代でもありました。本展は当時の装飾芸術、ファッションなどを展覧し、作家たちがときに交わり、ポリフォニーのごとく共鳴しながら探求したいくつものモダンの形を紹介します。
KCIからはポワレの1911-12年のドレス、ランヴァンの1926-27年のドレス、パニゾンの帽子、デュナンのシガレット・ケースを出展します。
