アクティブな女性たち：1920年代のよそおい
　
第一次世界大戦終結後の1920年代、フランスやアメリカの都市部の女性たちは好景気を背景に華やかなよそおいに身を包み、新しいライフスタイルを楽しむようになります。髪をショートカットにして自ら車を運転し、煙草をくゆらせ、自由を謳歌する女性たち。彼女らのアクティブな行動に呼応するかのように、服は簡潔なシルエットになり、化粧道具や服飾小物類は持ち運びしやすく小型化していきます。本展示では、当時の多種多様な衣装やアクセサリー類、版画などKCIの収蔵品から選りすぐり、展覧します。

Active Women: Dressing for the 1920s

In the 1920s, after the end of World War I, urban women in France and the United States were encouraged by the economic boom to dress in glamorous outfits and enjoy new lifestyles. They cut their hair short, drove their own cars, smoked, and had fun with their freedom. In response to their active behavior, their clothes became simpler in silhouette, and their cosmetics and accessories became smaller and more portable. This exhibition features a wide variety of dresses, accessories and print works from the KCI collection.
