Marlon Brando, star of the movie The Wild One (1953), still influences contemporary designers today, and the movie was the inspiration for this outfit by Masanori Morikawa. The ensemble expresses the defiance and purity of spirit that characterize bikers, combining the exquisite traditional Japanese kogei craft technique of yokofuri embroidery with a recreation of the American biker style of the times in its silhouette and fabric. Morikawa was born in a town in Kagawa Prefecture with a thriving kogei craftwork industry, where his grandfather was a yokofuri embroiderer. Morikawa established the brand Christian Dada in 2010. Every season, his collection presented items embroidered by the yokofuri technique. He announced the closure of Christian Dada in November 2019.
